Do not be unwise but understand the will of God.

This was the message God gave me to preach to my brethren yesterday in the bible study (13 May 2011). How to understand the will of God? Many times we find difficult to understand the will of God so many of us run to servants of God. Now please do not get me wrong that i am against going to servants of God, If we can hear and understand the will of God directly from God that’s better but anyhow this may not be applicable for the new ones or unbelivers they surely need servants of God who is just a sign board. Every Spirit filled believers must not first run to servants of God but run to God. Amen.

God has chosen us from millions not to live according to our will but His will

Ephesians 5:17 Therefore do not be unwise , but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Ephesians is one of the beautiful letter written by Paul. Chapter 1 to 4 says what the Lord has done for us and chapter 5- 6 says what we need to do to this Lord who has done so much for us.

How to know the will of God?

I believe every believer is eager to know the answer of this question and i give thanks to the Lord for them who has understood the will of God in their lives. Doing many things for our satisfication may not be the will of God but doing one thing in our whole life according to the will of God is blessed thing. Amen! See many in that day will say ‘ Lord, we have done many things in your name’ but what will be the reply of God, ‘ Oh, i never knew you’ that mean God never knew them and whatever they done in his name. Why God did not knew them? because they practice lawlessness instead of righteousness. practicing righteousness is the will of God but they were unwise to know his will so God rejected them.

Remember, you cannot know the will of God in one day or in one meeting. It is a long process and you should live in it. This is the basic thing. I want to pen down 3 main points which when we apply we will surely know His will in our life.

Summary : Renew your mind, Renewed mind will Love God sincerly and those who love the Lord sincerly will abide with him forever therby know the will of God everyday in the life. Below in detail study.Please go through prayerfully

Transform by the Renewing your Mind : Transformation without leaving old things is not transformation. I will give you one example of biblical transformation. No will drink Cofee on a cup that is used in a washroom. Even though we clean it many times with the best detergents but if this vessel is completely broken down and made unto another cup which looks good and clean then everyone will have coffee on that. Its the same way, transformation mean complete breaking or crucifying the old man and making into a new vessel. Renewing our mind with the thought of God. Which is the thought of God? Word of God is thoughts of God so when i renew my mind with thoughts of God then i will walk with God and therby understand his will towards me. Renewing ourselves should not be done one time but it is a daily process. 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. I have renewed my driving licence recently and if i dont do that i cannot drive my car on the roads. You cannot partake in God’s family with the Old mind so how will you understant the will of God with the old mind? Old mind is corrupted with sin and things of the world so there is an urgency of renewel to enter into the God kingdom. Without renewing your mind it is impossible to understand the will of God. Old mind does not yield to the laws of God and does not obey Him.Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed in this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. A transformed and renewed mind will understand what is good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

Loving God in sincerity : Now a transformed and renewed mind will sincerly love God and he will never have mask . Most of us fail to understand the will of God is because we are not sincere to Him. God hates hypocrites and we can see Jesus has spoke most of the message and cursed hypocrites. He blessed those who persecute and slapped him but not in the case of people who were not sincere. Hypocrites will never understand the will of God. The word sincere is dervied from Latin ‘ Sine ‘ and ‘ Cera’ that means WITHOUT WAX. Furnitures now a days are coated with wax they may look shining and pretty good but after some years it will shrink but a original wood furniture may not be shining like those wax coated but it is strong and long lasting. We must be sincere in all our ways. God told Abraham to walk blamless (upright or sincere) ( Genesis 17:1). He yielded to his wife’s advice and all those schemes failed and so Abraham could not understand the will of God. So the Alimighty appeared to him and said walk sincere. Did he rebelled against this words? No, Abraham fell on his face and God revelead his will to him. See, Sincere people will accept the failure and wrong doings before God and men. How you that you are sincere? you will not act something else which you are not! You will be the same like as you are inside to God and to men. Will God tell about me to others ” Behold, the man in whom there is no guile? Pauls says to imitate God as dear children. If you imitate anyone you must first love that person. So without loving God sincerely you cannot imitate him. Jesus was an obedient Son but more than that He was a dear Son to His Father. Obedient Son will obey their father, Dear son will know the heart of the Father. So how to know the will of Father? Loving Him sincerely as dear Child !!

Abide in God: John 15 is the best example for this. No branch will bear fruit of God if he is not abiding in God.few months back my mother went to India so one of my dear sister in church called me and asked for my favorite dish…why she asked my likes? because she doest not know me and doesnt stay with me. But my mother will never ask this question because we stay together. So if a mother can understand the likes and dislikes of her son then how much more we will understand His will when we abide in Him all the days of our life.Amen! There are three things that effects this Abiding. Lust of the flesh, Lust of the eyes and pride of the life. John 15:7 If you abide in Me and My words abide in you. You will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you” Now dont take this word as granted. First of all this promise is for the those who are Abiding, secondly to them who keep the Word. A person who is abiding and keeping the word will never have desires of the flesh and of the world. He understands the desire of God by abiding and then he make the desire of God as his desire.Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Now many take the second part of this verse and think God will give every carnal thing they ask for.. that is wrong. The person who does the first part can only do the second part. what is the first part? Delight yourself in the Lord ( that shows the relationship) this is the first part…if you cant delight then dont think of the second part. Enoch walked with God in other words Enoch knew the will of God.

This is what the Lord has taught me to know His will. God may have spoken to you in different ways. Share it with me so that i rejoice in the Lord. We are strangers to this World so cannot walk according to the world, God has called us before the foundation of this world. Let us know His perfect will towards us because the days are evil
