Which is the true Baptism?

This note is not to promote one group and depromote another. This is purely written with a burden to promote Word of God, so that the truth will set you free from all the clutches of darkness and deception.I know this is a sensitive subject where most of the believers have their own views. But it does not matter what people say. Instead, we need to check what the Lord has told us do. If you are seeking the truth, kindly go through the note patiently.

Before u do anything , you must check four things :

Did Jesus tell us to do this ?
Does Bible teach us about this ?
Did the early church practice this ?
Did Apostles teach us about this ?

If any thing that you do, does not allign with the above four conditions, then Watch Out!!We are here to see the truth about Baptism. Instead of putting forth my own views. we are going to look into Scriptures, breathed by the Spirit.

True Baptism : Baptism is immersion in water, given to those who Repent from their sins, and Believe in Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Scriptural backing :

Acts 2:38, ‘ Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’

Mathew 3:6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River

(underlined : Only Repentants should be given baptism)

Mark 16:16, ‘And he said unto them, “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, and he that does not believe shall be condemned.”

(underlined: Words of Jesus…he who believes must be given baptism)

Mathew 3:16 After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.

( underlined : Jesus came up out of the water, which means that he was immersed in water)

Above three points are the facts of true baptism as per the Word and not as per tradition :

1. Baptism is given to those who repent from their sins.

2. Baptism is given to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and

3. Baptism is done by immersing a person into water.

What is true Baptism?

I would suggest the reader to read Romans 6 to understand the true baptism.

Romans 6:17, ‘ But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.’

It says that Baptism is a form of doctrine, which means baptism is the outline or structure. The act of dipping into water is just a form but has a message behind that. we need to follow and understand the message first and then obey this structure. A person who understands the message must also follow the outline…In other words if anyone has understood the doctrine, he must be baptised. Since we know what is the outline (true baptism), let us know the message of this structure – the doctrine.

Doctrine – the real content

Romand 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

When we are immersed into the water ,we are into the likeness of His death. This means that our old man is buried. We put off the old man by confessing and repenting from our sins. Old man is the natural man who was conceived as sinful from mother’s womb.Old man does not profit anything and he cannot please God.

Romans 6:4, ‘Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.’

After confessing and repenting from our sins, we receive forgiveness and are justified through Christ Jesus and have peace with God ( Romans 5) and that makes our old self to be buried. And just like Jesus raised up from the dead, we too receive new life. In other words, we are begotten from God ( Born Again experience). So, now we are dead to sin but alive to Christ. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. God transforms us altogether into a new man, when we bury our old man with Christ. So this is the doctrine we should follow and the one who follow this doctrine, will also obey the form of doctrine that is – Water Baptism ! Can you say amen?? I AM SPEAKING THE TRUTH !!

False Baptism : Baptism that denies the truth i.e the facts as per the Word, is called false baptism.

Child Baptism : God hates sin, and not infants !! God is not cruel to NOT TO GIVE heaven to non-baptised infant. If you understand this simple truth, then you are blessed.

All nominal Christian churches does this practice ( Roman Catholic, Marthomite, Jacobite, Orthodox, CSI, CNI etc). A large number of people following this practice does not make this into a true practice. If you ask anyone of these groups, they will say that they did it because their parents or priest asked them to do so. But did you check whether the parents and priests are right or wrong? Most of them follow this Child baptism as a tradition, without even bothering to check the Word of God. They believe that when the child is baptized, he or she would not loose the heaven, in case he or she dies in the infant stage. Ok! I want to ask two things to all those who claim this : 1) Then why did Jesus die? 2) If Christian babies are saved through child baptism, what about the babies of other religions ?. Dear people, is our God so cruel that he will deny heaven to a hindu infant just becoz he is not baptised and accept a christian child because he is baptised? well! God is a God of justice. Babies are immature and they cannot distinguish good from bad. That’s why they need full attention of a matured person. How can this immature child confess, repent and believe?? It’s not possible at all. Christ died for us and for our sins. So, if the infant dies, he or she will surely go to heaven. We do not find any scriptures saying that the infant were baptized, we dont find Jesus said us to do the same, Early Church did not practised it, Apsotles did not mention it…so on the basis of this we conclude that Child Baptism is not biblical. Amen!

Sprinkling Baptism: The word Baptism mean ” Immersion” so i dont need to explain more on this. This practice came from the babylonian culture, when any infant is born after 8 days they take the child and turn to east and pray to Sun god and sprinkle water on him/her. This was introduced in Christian community and from that day onwards people are following this pagan practice which is not biblical. Moreover we do not find any scripture speaking about sprinkling baptism, Jesus was not sprinkled, John the Baptist did not sprinkle anyone, Early Church did not follow this and Apostles did not mention it.. So we conclude here that Sprinkling Baptism is against biblical truth!!

There is no child baptism, adult baptism and sprinkling baptism. Bible talks about only one baptism and that is given by immersing to those who confess their sins and believe in Jesus Christ..

Search the scriptures and seek the truth!

May God bless you.

    Hello,

I stumbled across your blog as result of looking for an image, and your blog was linked to it. I’m so glad I did. I enjoyed reading the exposé on the topic of baptism. Your perspective was not launched into your post. I liked the way you backed everything you had to say up with the Scripture, which is given by inspiration of God!

God bless you! Continue to expound upon God’s Word!
