The Lost wallet & the Lost Glory

Few days back was a bad day for my dad because he realized that he had lost his wallet after coming home. He was very upset as he had kept certain important ID cards in it. He called up all those places where he had gone, but was in vain. He even called up the driver of the bus, in which he had travelled, but there too, his wallet was not found. He went back to all those places where he had been, but all that turned out to be futile…

A little later, in the after noon time, the bus driver called back my father to say that the wallet was found. And I have no word to describe the happiness I saw in my father’s face.. Soon, I drove him back to the place where the driver would come with the wallet. The driver said that he would return back after collecting a few more people, which meant that it would take almost an hour to reach the place where we were waiting.In that waiting time, my father called up all those people whom he had informed earlier to say that the lost wallet has been found. The wallet was still with the bus driver. Yet, my father told every one that he had found the lost wallet. His happiness was so immense, that he could not keep silent about it.

Romans 5: 1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

We have not received the glory yet but through Jesus Christ we have received the Hope of the glory of God like my father did not receive his wallet but he received the hope/ assurance and that gives him joy.

Same is the joy of a child of God. Our hope is the eternal life in Jesus. Though we have not yet seen Jesus or the eternal hope waiting for us, the value of it is so much that the joy of even waiting for it cannot be kept hidden or unspoken of. Our heart is so much full of this joy that it’s visible in our very life, actions, and words.

Further in Romans 5 Paul says we not only boast in the hope of the glory of God but also in the sufferings. It is sure that everyone who HOPE and WAIT for the glory of God will go through sufferings.

Romans 5: 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

My father did not mind taking all efforts to go back to all those places where he had been and calling up people to enquire about the wallet. It’s because that the value of the things in his wallet was much more than all the efforts put to have it back. Living a faith life involves many struggles and trials in life, but the value of eternal hope at the end of this road is much more worthy of all the struggles of life. So, we don’t mind going thru them all .Going back to our heavenly Father is the first step to find the lost hope and joy..and thereby the lost glory of man. May God bless you with this…
